Life's Rich Pageant

I recently watched A Shot in the Dark (1964). It has been a long time since I've seen it, and I had completely forgotten this scene.

Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers) is investigating a murder, and the victim is laying face down on the floor. The accused murderer is Maria Gambrelli (Elke Sommer). Clouseau is questioning Maria, but having fallen into a fountain, he is soaked to the skin.
Maria: “You should get out of these clothes immediately. You’ll catch your death of pneumonia, you will.”
Clouseau: “Yes, I probably will. But it’s all part of life’s rich pageant, you know.”
